Jason started his career as a facilities manager, looking after a range of commercial, defence and sports stadia, both in Australia and the UK. It was these opportunities that gave him first-hand experience of what it was like to be a “buyer” of security systems. 

With so many different technologies to choose from, Jason quickly realised that he needed a company that could provide him with real advice on selecting the right system. In fact, it was because they didn’t exist, he decided to set one up, with the purpose of helping his fellow facilities colleagues. 

Giving back to an industry that provided him with so much opportunity, Jason continues to encourage Young FMs to network and share ideas. Jason’s other passion is to help support and promote young entrepreneurs, which even led him to representing the UK at the G8 Young Business Summit in Italy. 

Having grown Welcome Gate from a single client to a truly global footprint, Jason remains fascinated by how businesses work and constantly curious to learn about new security technologies and how they can solve real business problems. 

It is this open-minded approach that has led Welcome Gate to be on the forefront of cloud and mobile based systems, enabling our clients to integrate easily with their HR, IT, CRM and ERP systems.  

As Welcome Gate continues to expand internationally, Jason’s role is to ensure we are focussed on serving our clients in accordance with our “Core Values”. Finding interesting clients with unique business challenges and figuring out how to solve them as a Team is what really drives us – each doing our little part to make a difference.  

A great day for Jason would probably involve sharing ideas about business over a game of table tennis.

After years in various IT roles, including a major platform migration for one of the UK’s largest security companies, James co-founded Welcome Gate with Jason Choy to be a security systems company with a fresh approach to client relationships.

Living on four different continents during childhood, and the experience of growing up among different cultures, perspectives and attitudes has given James a very open minded approach to challenges. This approach, along with the multinational makeup of the core team, has directly influenced Welcome Gate’s own internal culture of inclusion, empathy and understanding.

With over two decades of experience in the security industry and a deep interest in all things technological, James answers the What and How questions clients raise as they seek their optimum solution. The ability to view challenges from the client’s point of view is invaluable to explaining why it is the best choice for them.

Although he is currently focused more often on complex system designs and integrations, he still enjoys getting hands-on with client systems to keep those basic skills up to date.

As Head of Finance at Welcome Gate, Aleksandra leads the company’s financial strategy, planning, and reporting functions. With over eight years of experience in senior leadership roles, a sharp analytical mindset, and a strong foundation in financial management, she ensures the business remains financially robust, compliant, and positioned for sustainable growth.

Aleksandra oversees financial modelling, cash flow management, and long-term planning, playing a key role in informing strategic and commercial decisions across the business. She is also deeply involved in stakeholder management, building strong relationships across internal teams, partners, and external advisors to drive alignment and effective decision-making.

Her collaborative approach and attention to detail help drive efficiency and transparency, making her an integral part of the leadership team. Her work underpins Welcome Gate’s continued success and its commitment to delivering value to clients and stakeholders.

Passionate about travel, Italian culture, and dance, she embraces experiences that reflect her curiosity and inform her open-minded, inclusive leadership style.

Monika began her career with the company in a part-time Sales Support role and quickly progressed into a leadership position through her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and deep understanding of operational needs. As Service Delivery Manager, she oversees the day-to-day running of the Service department, ensuring maintenance visits are delivered efficiently and client systems remain fully operational.

She plays a key role in managing service schedules, refining internal processes, and maintaining high standards across the business. Monika is known for her structured approach, strong organisational skills, and commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring both the team and clients are supported at every stage.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find her on the yoga mat, she’s a qualified yoga teacher and mindfulness enthusiast, which comes in handy when navigating the demands of a busy operations role.

Graham brings over 20 years of experience in the industry, having built his career from the ground up. He began as an installation engineer and steadily advanced through increasingly senior roles, eventually becoming a lead project engineer. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish and successfully run his own company for 15 years before selling it and joining Welcome Gate. Since then, he has continued to grow within the organisation, earning promotions to Senior Project Manager and now Engineering Operations Manager.

Throughout his career, Graham has been known for his strong leadership, hands-on approach, and commitment to delivering quality outcomes. A particular strength of his lies in problem solving and stakeholder management—he excels at building relationships, communicating clearly across teams, and driving projects forward with clarity and confidence.

Htway holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from the University of Westminster and began his career in the security industry in 2014 with Welcome Gate. Over the years, he has built a strong technical foundation and gained extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of security systems.

Now serving as Technical Manager, Htway oversees sales quotations, project delivery, installation standards, and engineer training. He is known for his commitment to quality, practical problem-solving, and dependable support for both clients and colleagues. Htway takes pride in contributing to Welcome Gate’s growth and continues to play a key role in maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence.

Anton joined the team in March 2025 as a Project Manager, bringing over nine years of experience in the industry. He began his career as a hands-on installation engineer and steadily progressed through roles including Site Supervisor and Site Manager, ultimately moving into Project Management.

His background spans both high-end residential developments delivered on behalf of leading mechanical and electrical companies across the UK and Ireland and large-scale commercial office projects focused on structured data cabling.

Known for his strong work ethic and people-oriented approach, Anton leads with the belief that “we will either find a way or make one.“

John began his career as a Field Service Engineer for a multinational office equipment company and progressed through the ranks to the role of Service Manager. Over the years, he held similar leadership roles at two additional companies before transitioning into the physical security installation sector, where he now brings over 20 years of industry experience.

Since joining Welcome Gate, John has played a key role in enhancing procurement and delivery processes, driving efficiencies across the supply chain, and managing the company’s vehicle fleet. His strong communication skills and analytical approach have enabled him to build solid supplier relationships, negotiate competitive pricing, ensure timely delivery of equipment, and maintain a multi-manufacturer stock system. John is known for his proactive, can-do attitude and his genuine commitment to supporting colleagues across all areas of operations.

Outside of work, John is a dedicated family man with a passion for sport. He is a keen runner and a London Marathon finisher. A lifelong football enthusiast, he has both played for and managed his local team and remains active in 5-a-side football, tennis, and snooker.

A long-standing member of Welcome Gate, Phyo Paing plays a key role in managing and evolving the company’s IT infrastructure. Combining expertise in IT, networking, and security systems, he supports everything from planning and implementing major infrastructure projects to maintaining network security and system performance, Phyo ensures that the technology behind the scenes runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
Before joining Welcome Gate, Phyo gained valuable experience in IT and networking with Myanmar Net. His technical expertise spans everything from server management and Office 365 to advanced networking and virtualization. He thrives on solving complex problems and continuously looks for ways to enhance systems and support the team.
Phyo values the strong work-life balance and collaborative culture at Welcome Gate, and enjoys working with a team of friendly, driven professionals.
Outside of work, Phyo is an off-road cycling enthusiast and a hands-on tech tinkerer. Whether he’s building DIY projects at home or experimenting with new electronic designs and networking techniques, he’s always exploring how things work—and how they can work better.

Kyle Grove is a seasoned Technical Sales Designer at Welcome Gate, with over a decade of experience in physical security solutions. He began his career in South Africa as a CCTV solutions specialist before relocating to the UK in 2021. Since then, he has contributed to a wide range of projects, including critical national infrastructure.
Kyle brings deep technical presales knowledge and experience across access control, CCTV and integrated systems. He is passionate about staying current with emerging technologies and using them to design innovative, future-ready solutions. Kyle takes pride in understanding each client’s unique environment and challenges, ensuring that every design is tailored, effective and fit for purpose. Outside of work, Kyle enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and camping.

James joined the team in September 2024 as Business Development Manager, with extensive Sales experience across the modular building, HVAC, and security industries. His career has included key roles at organisations such as Portakabin, where he delivered high-impact projects for clients including the NHS, the Home Office, and other major sectors.
A graduate of the renowned Dale Carnegie sales training programme — and proud recipient of the coveted Dale Carnegie pen — James blends structured expertise with creative, outside-the-box thinking. Known for his fun, forward-thinking approach, he’s committed to challenging the status quo to deliver the very best solutions for clients.
Recognised as Mentor of the Year for his work guiding a sales apprentice, he brings a leadership style grounded in honesty, hard work, and integrity.
Outside of work, he’s passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoys discovering new places through regular city breaks.
